fitting wheels with smaller centerbore

Hello all,

I am considering 350z spec wheels and the centerbore of the wheels are 66.1mm vs our 67.1mm...

Questions
1. Has anyone tried fitting these? Maybe the tolerance on the diameter is enough to still allow this to fit, albeit, tighter..
2. has anyone tried to bore it out themselves? if so, what tools and method did you use?
3. another option is to use non hubcentric spacers to push the wheel out past the hub's 67.1mm diameter ring.. if this method is attempted, what size spacer do i need? as i have read on this forum, 3mm seems to be the max spacer to run before needing to use extended lugs.

last option, and most expensive probably is taking it to a wheel shop to bore it out and i was just quoted $60 per wheel!

thanks for looking.

Plenty of g35 wheels on the boards, so I imagine they are the same centerbore.
Spacers you can do 5mm on stock studs fine or get spacers with built in studs that are larger.
Look at the Calling All Rays Wheels thread and PM the guy who just posted up the 19" G35 wheels about the centerbore.

I have G rims and they fit perfectly fine. I think the Z and G rims have same centerbore.

Didnt have any problems with mine fitting the bore, although I am having a few other problems since I put the wheels on but dont think its due to them since I have no idea how they could make the problem.

I did it for a short time as temporary wheels but I would not suggest it for the long run as-is since it is only a difference of .5mm in radius. I would recommend having the wheels machined out to that proper 67.1, though many will say you don't really need to.

update guys. i went through with it and mounted 350z track wheels, version 1 (rays forged, 6 spoke). though the center bore on the wheels is 1mm smaller in diameter, it is also chamfered. what does this mean? it means if you use small spacers (3mm?) you should not have problems with the install as the spacer will pretty much turn them into lugcentric wheels.

now if you don't use spacers.. you will be shearing the wheel's center bore about 1mm deep as you torque it down with your lug nuts. (don't forget anti-seize..)

all is smooth! but there is slight rubbing in rear due to 245/45 tires. i will be putting on 245/40 soon.
