Dropping the 8

Does anyone know what drop you can have with the mazdaspeed bodykit without it hitting speed bumps and if coilovers are better to have. I'm not looking for performance but just want to get rid of the gap between the fender and the wheel. But I want the ride to still be smooth as well, any help will be apprecitated thanks in advance.

You will have to either avoid speed bumps or go very slow over them. There is no way to avoid it especially since you already have the MS kit and now you want to drop your car. Oh and another thing, the second you drop your car (no matter which brand of shocks/struts and spring/coil setup you go with) it will guaranted get stiffer than stock...

i have MS front and espelir springs. if i go straight on up/down a ramp leading to a street, ill scrape for sure. there has to be enough room to angle my car sideways so the tires touch down first, allowing me to clear my bumper.

Hmmm....damn I guess no drop for me. Oh well, thanks for the advice and yes I do have 19" Volks on but I don't think that will make a big difference anyway.

what profile on the rear?
i'm using 30 on the rear and it's funny, my front bumper still perfect and hasn't hit anything yet, but my poor rear bumper is all scratched up on the bottom.......
i'm using 35 in the front stock suspension. I really really want to drop it......

Sup Wookie! Is your 8 the blue one with the SF Challenges? I think I've seen you around before. Well I got my 8 slammed with JIC coilovers and I pretty much scrape over everything. The ride on the coilovers is smooth if I have it on the softest setting, feels just like stock. I like to ride mines a little on the stiff side though. You should look into springs instead if you just wanna close up the fender gap. Can't wait to see your 8 with the kit. K-den!
