Hi, I know a litte bit about D2 coilover, they are design in England and made in Taiwan. But don't know how they perform, they are mono tube design. They usually pump higer nitrogen to match higer spring rate(if you want higer spring rate than there spec) which make me don't like them.

I found these guys on eBay selling D2's for just over a grand! Not for the 8, but they might be able to get them. Give'em an email and ask your questions/get the info. Don't forget to share what you find out! :D

The Teins are dependable. I haven't heard of anybody trying the Tein Basic on the RX-8, but 350Z owners say the ride quality of the Flex is much better than the Basic. The Flex has a higher spring rate, but the shocks are adjustable. I have the Flex, and the ride quality is great.

Pillow ball upper mounts are going to be stiffer than stock.

For the same price, I'd get the Tein Flex rather than gamble on the D2s. Plus you can get the EDFC for the Teins, so that you can adjust the damping from inside the car and on the fly, without having to put the car on a lift.

Tien HA used to have problem with the rusted issue. I wondered did they fix the paint coating issue for the new product.

 

I'm bringing this back from the dead to see if anyone has tried or has the D2 coilovers. I'm looking at a set and they sound real good on paper- 32 way adjustable, aluminum, pillowball upper mount optional, and I found them for $880 for the complete set. Seriously considering. Any opioions??

The others I have on my list is the Tein Mono Flex's with EDFC and the KW V3 coilovers as well

 

since I started this thread, all I can tell you is why I didn't get them in the end...
an rx8 owner, that used to have them on, wasn't pleased because they were 'noisy'... it sounds weird, but he told me that on bumpy roads they made all kind of noises. he changed them pretty soon....
my first thought is that the installation didn't go well on his car, but... he is a mazda dealer and has lots of mechanics in his shop. so I said wtf and bought the HKS, which is an overall good suspension and 'quite' enough

D2 makes the K-Sport pieces too. I'm running the K-Sport setup on my car. They're located over in Phoenix, AZ, so at least there's someone here to talk to if they happen to develop a problem.

BTW- the photo posted of the D2 pieces at the beginning of this thread wasn't the RX-8 pieces. LOL @ upper adjustable camber plate!
