I have a opportunity to get a free set of their ultra high performance tires for putting my car on display at the Houston Grand Prix, and I was wondering what people thought of their tires. The Tire Rack doesn't carry them, so I can't find any reviews.

I get to keep my current tires, so hey, its a free set, but I was wondering what people thought of the Zeon 2XS.

well if it's worth anything, edgeracing used to carry those cooper tires, and they were the lowest priced tires in their summer ultra high performance tire lineup, but they dropped them completely from their lineup, even with the super-low prices, so my guess is they're not very good, hence not very popular either?

I had them for 35k miles. Not to bad. They did have problems cupping on the inside shoulder, but good rotations and lots of wheel spin kept that down. In the 245/40 size they seemed to have a wider tread than the others I've had. I've had 4 sets of tires and I'd rate them like this......

1 Kumho SPT's
2 Cooper 2XS
3 Goodyear Eagle F1gs
4 Stock Dunlops

I put the Coopers ahead of the Goodyears because on my car with my setup the F1's just didn't have the grip of the Coopers or the stiff sidewalls. Oh yeah, they were EXCELLENT in the rain here in Houston.

Figured I'd add my $0.02 since this thread isn't THAT old...

They came on my 04 when I bought it a few months ago. They like to scream a lot around corners but offer up decent grip.

However they have developed a "wap wap wap" noise. Perhaps I'll go rotate them and see if that helps after a few miles.
