Changing from Rx8 16's to 18's, will the pressure sensor be affected?

Will I have to transfer the pressure sensors from the 16s to the 18s? Is our TPMS sensor the type that straps to the barrel of the wheel? Can I just use 18s that already have TPMS installed?

Whoa, what model came with 16's? I thought the '04 AT Sport was on 17's?
The answer is no either way, the sensors should still be compatible. The sensor is looking for below a critical threshold which is more or less the same for any car, let alone wheel size. It's not looking for the optimal, door panel pressure.
It's also no big deal to run without TPMS sensors at all, it's just an annoying blinking light after you start driving for a bit that you can cover with electrical tape

The TPMS is not going to be affected by a rim size change. The TPMS is integrated into the valve stem. Not a strap on, . lol
Wait they will be here for that comment. If your getting a set of RX8 stock 18's with TPMS already in them your good to go.
And yes Anijo, the The Base Model AT came with 16's.
