Actually Akebono make ceramic pads for the 8.
Don't know of any ceramic rotors yet.

Probably not so good for street driving -- brake temperatures are going to be too low (the vast majority of the time) for ceramic brakes to work their best. On a racetrack, where you can get them up to their ideal operating temperature, you would probably see an advantage.

Ceramic pads and rotors are really intended for track use, not road use. The operating temparature of these are such that I doubt you'd ever reach it on the track with an '8 let alone on the street. The Merc was actually critizized for this because even on the track the brakes wouldn't reach the temperature to be their most effective.

Whilst I'm not an expert, I'd still say with reasonable certainty that for racing and street applications (as far as the 8 is concerned anyway), more conventional aftermarket high performance brake systems would be far more cost effective.

Nice technology. Wrong application IMHO.
