i got it over the summer, lamin-x is some good stuff, got it both for the headlight and fog light

dezau 10-27-2010 03:56 PM

does it affect visibility at all?

stevebiggie 10-27-2010 04:30 PM

not at all, it protects the headlight against rocks and bugs... and i have 6000k hids and now it looks like i have 8000k... easy to put on too

Ask in the Will It Fit thread and say what your suspension is.

Man sweet looking VR !!!! Nice stance !!! How many inches are you lowered from stock height ?? I wanna drop 2 inches but there are stupid speed bumps everywhere in toronto :(

J8635621 01-31-2011 10:55 AM

Looks good. I would suggest about a 10mm spacer for the front though.

Mazda_RX804 01-31-2011 10:55 AM

i think about 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. I see my girl in toronto and im fine. just need to angle the car lol

Mazda_RX804 01-31-2011 10:57 AM

also running -2.2 camber around. No spacers for me thanks I like the staggard look. Thanks for the opinion

J8635621 01-31-2011 11:00 AM

Lol that isn't a staggered look. That is a sunken look. Staggered means thinner front wheel/tire as compared to the rear, nothing to do with offset afaik. It's yours though.

canaryrx8 01-31-2011 11:27 AM

nice wheels, they go nicely with the car, any way you can lose the front plate?

Rotary-RX8 01-31-2011 11:39 AM

^ Sadly its mandatory in toronto. Ive been contemplating whether to get rid of mine too. I might do it in spring. Fuck da policeeee :wiggle: :$

wayloco 01-31-2011 12:26 PM

A while back when I was doing my road test, the tester told me if I had the front plate in the car, NOT ON THE DASH (decapitation hazard) it was legal. But don't do it if you're skeptical of this. I think you have to say that it was ripped off if or something (yeah it was ripped off! By me)if you get pulled over.

canaryrx8 01-31-2011 12:37 PM

It's supposed to be illegal here in Texas too, my daily has one as I don't care, my 8 has never seen one except for maybe when I first got it and hadn't gotten it home yet  I've done the front window thing or not at all and I don't think the cops care, I think it's more of a probable cause or let's add this to an existing offense (like when you get popped for speeding, officer is like.."I see you have no front plate...") more than anything. I've also heard different parts of the state are more hardcore about it due to toll road enforcement too though, so who knows.

Checking in from MA, 18x7.5 front and rear VS-XX in Extreme Gold finish. I got em in Osaka, it's hard to believe that my set is almost 14 yrs old! Need new tires, I was running Dunlop DZ101's last summer but they're pretty done. I've always been a Falken guy anyways.

Cheers

Mazda_RX804 02-14-2011 12:46 PM

did you just say those are 14 years old? Nice rim selection btw Needs to be a bit more aggressive in my opinion though.

Hachi 02-14-2011 01:09 PM

Thanks man, I definitely wish mine had a bit more of a lip but I'm fine with the sizing. I recieve a lot of praise, VS-XX's are pretty unique wheels (as I'm sure you know) and I don't know how it is north of the border but I've never seen anybody else in New England running em on anything, let alone an 8.

Oh and yeah, my set has a production date of Apr 14, 1997. I've only had them for two years but I got a great deal and had to pick them up and get them back to the States.
