New Wheels

The wheels came in today and the lugs so I was able to get them in the shop ASAP. I left work for this but I'm glad I did because they weren't going to drop this off.

Props to Fluid Motorsports for handling my many orders as it took WEEKS to find a set of wheels. Originally I ordered the 5zigen ZR+ 520's but they didn't have my sizes so I decided to spend way more money just to **** topgear8 off.

The lugs I ordered are the 5zigen Proracer 52mm(long ones) in blue. It turned out to be an AWESOME combo because the colors match perfectly.

Specs:Gunmetal (looks bronze doesn't it)
18x8.5 +38 Semi-Concave Front / 18x9.5 +38 Deep Concave Rear

I am perfectly aware I need to drop the car...I am currently eating out of a ******* can in order to get these wheels...but at least I'm losing some weight in the process. Tein S-Techs are coming in next week. Be patient.

I was just going to ask that actually. Do you think I will have any problems with Tein S-Tech's with my specs? I don't THINK i should. I have a TON of room in the front...but the rear may be close. I know its only a .7 inch drop though.

Rear = 18x9.5 +38 with a 265/35 tire.

^You will be fine in the rears. If you do get rubbing over some bumps then a little bit of negative camber will solve it.

I sound like I don't know how to speak english in my last post with that fractured sentance, lol.

You should be fine with that spec and the minimal drop. As top gear said it would be very close so you a touch of camber would do the trick. Congrats on the wheels again!

Thanks Tilt,

People are starting to come up to me and telling me how much they used to hate my old wheels. Makes me feel good and bad I guess.

Question to Work owners:

What center caps will work with my CR Kai's? Do you think I could get the stock gunmetal center caps that come on the R3? Too small?

Question # 2

Should I go decals or no decals? I'm asking because I tried just a second ago...and it may be one of the hardest things I ever did in my life. I honestly don't know the correct way.

I've been wondering about that too, but no matter what, i'm at least gonna try putting them on, cuz they look amazing!

I don't remember exactly, but I want to say that a S2000 owner some how got his center caps to fit. That's the only center cap story I have.

Dan put his on after he repainted the rims. I would ask him how he did it. I still have my set and in blue if you mess up...

i just looked at the wheel on WORK's website and stuck them on. didn't really think too much about it, just cut out the stickers and slapped them on.

you cannot have center caps for our cars with these wheels. the rear axle shaft protrudes too much for and center cap to fit.

when i first bought my CR Kai i ran that setup and had no problems. the S-Techs weren't low enough to cause rubbing with the 265. ALTHOUGH, i did run Falken ST-115 which are slightly narrower than other 265 tires out there.

now i run 255 all the way around, but that's a totally different story.

Thanks for the replies. I am gonna have to take some scissors to that decal sheet now. I fugged it all up but maybe I'll be able to salvage most of the stickers on that one sheet.

What i did was try to peel off the covers on each side first. I would have figured that was the wrong way if I could read Japanese.

I KNOW YOU"VE BEEN WAITING TO SEE THIS! or not... lol

Stock Wheels 18x8 +50

Scared the **** out of me. Raw fitment looked like that takara green/white 8

But still, I could see where this setup is going

HKS Hipermax RS

New bulbs too - Philips Ultinon 6000k, PIAA Ion Super Yellow

Worries were all gone... LED parking and side markers are arriving tmr

Too excited! Out of focus!

The money shot

I DON"T CARE WHAT YOU SAY! I THINK MY TINTED TAILLIGHTS BLEND IN WELL WITH MY COLOR SCHEME! LOL

Forgot to take pictures of the Cusco Sways... =.=

Comments... This offset with preset HKS Hipermax RS drop... rubs a little in the back... so i'm gonna raise the car for a bit later or do a fender roll. But overall, I'm so ******* excited now... Work RS lugs are coming by the end of the month. LEDs tomorrow. Wait for updates!

^ lol well dan, u set the example. trust me, it's you who cost me these wheels... damnnnn u....... lol

and nuke, they are 8.5 +25 which is semi-concave. i never was fond of the fully deep concave nways... they look too... aggressive on the 8 and no offence to u dan, u did a really great job turning ur 8 to a real aggresive 8, it's just i don't think my apperance package would blend in well with the 9.5 deep concaves

for the blue lug nuts, i assumed the 4 close ended ones are the wheel lock, but why the rest or open ended?

That is how the 5zigen wheels lugs came. I have seen setups like the ones you've mentioned though. Maybe Rays lugs are that way?

Dezau looks good...+25 worked out pretty good for you it seems. I will however disagree with you about the deep concave. My rears look delicious.

I'm with DanOMite a little bit, even though I am a late comer to the Work party. Look at the wheels I USED to have though.

I would not like to see the CR Kai's go the way of the Enkei RPF1...but at the current price point that shouldn't happen anytime soon.
