Question Break Noise

Hi everyone,

Has anyone experienced a noise while breaking? It only happens when you break gently as when more pressure is applied to the break pedal the "squicking" noise disappears!

Contacted Mazda but they have told me they are aware of it and looking into the problem.
Has anyone found a solution for it?

Cheers

There is a TSB for this as well. You can get them to replace the pads if you want. Go to the Rosenthal Mazda site, download and print it, then take that along with your car to the dealer.

The reason for the noise - Its the brake pad. Its a high perofrmance pad, and the downside to that is the noise when you brake gently.

I have heard - but not tried - if you do some hard breaking, you can stop it squeeling for a little bit.

And, yeah, mine does it too. Its normal.

I just had my 8 in for recall work and told them to look at it. My rotor had a groove in it, so they machined it down smooth. You can feel your rotors, if one of them isn't smooth that's where the squeal may be coming from...

Bed your pads. Do some medium-hard stops and then see if the squeel is still there at low speeds.

Oh yeah, and its BRAKING, not 'breaking'. You don't want things to be breaking.
