i have a stock 2004 rx8 and i wanna know what i should do to make it even better at handling, and what i should do to make it go around a track way faster, like brakes and stuff like that. i know im not gnna be able to afford more speed so i might as well do this thanks

 

if u need to ask these questions, than the car can already out handle the driver in stock form.

 

I would start with tires.

Then work on suspension.
I upgraded to Konis/Tein-S springs and it was a major improvement above stock.

Then upgrading swaybars would probably help.

Installing a front strut bar, possibly rear.

The stock brakes are actually pretty good, if you replace the pads + brakelines you should be okay.

 

stock car has plenty of capabilities around the track, get some better brake pads, flush the brake fluid with one that's rated at a higher boiling temp, spend the rest of the money on track days and a helmet, learn on crappy tires and upgrade to better ones once you wear these out.

 

High performance driving classes are by far the best way "make it go around a track way faster".

 

Upgrading the suspension may end up being just as expensive as adding some power lol.

Stock form is already good enough for the track.

 

This is probably the best advice if we are sticking to the car. On a track day, you aren't going for best times. It's about improving your on-track capabilities. The stock suspension is more than adequate.
With the wrong combination of suspension mods, you can rune your handling.

 

Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires NUFF SAID! i always kiss them goonight. great handling and they wear pretty slowly by max performance tire standards. they have really good wet grip too, beats the crap out of toyo. but i'm also with coldf1ame and alnielsen , boost up your skillz its a sports car from birth! get good tires and brake pads and keep the car well maintained.
