best brake pads for a stock 8?

Hi,

I'm just looking for some brake pads (not brake kits) that greatly improve the stopping distance of the 8 over the stock pads. I don't care about brake dust, but would like like be somewhat resistant to fade. Any suggustions? Thanks.

project mu or w/e they are called , the carbon ones or w/e its called , about 150 or so for the front pads I think. They also have the cheaper ones , which are about 75 by project mu ,but don't stop as fast as the carbon ones . and from what I heard they do REDUCE (not add) brake dust , so thats a plus

Stop the car faster?????

I hope you realize that you will NOT improve stopping distance with more agressive brake pads! This assumes that you can send the tires to impending lock (or ABS) with both sets of pads. You can easily do this with the stock brake pads!!! In both cases the tire adhesion is the limiting factor not the brake pads. NOW, if you said that my stock pads are fading (losing friction at high temperatures) on the race track then I would say that race pads may help because they are designed to fade at a higher temperature. For street use the stock pads are great.

Stop faster??

Forgot to say that the only pads I could get a few months ago were Porterfield. Ran the car at Gingerman (MI track) and Watkins Glen. I would say that they were just OK. Once I started using the brakes hard they still faded and the wear rate was fast when they get hot. Did the Stoptech brake kit and Performance Friction pads for the next track day and they were awsome. No fade and almost no wear!!! I'd wait for PFC to make a pad for the stock brake.
