Anyone replaced a wheel stud?

I've got a stripped lug stud...has anyone replaced one on an 8? I replaced a few on my old 240 a couple months ago and it was cake...only had to pull the wheel and take the caliper off...there was enough room between the rotor and dust shield to get the old out and wiggle the new in. Wondering if I'll be able to do the same on the 8 or if I'll have to pull the rotor/hub off?

Any experience?

On the eight you need to remove the hub as they are pressed in and banging it out with a hammer will damage the bearing...

potential bearing damage is true on any car, but plenty of people do it and get away with it

it would be better to press it out with a c-clamp or something similar if you can get the necessary access, you can typically use a lug nut to pull the new one into place

Yeah, I used the BFH method of removal on the 240...I might be gentler on my new car than I was on the 10-year-old one with 170k miles :D
