Tanabe GF210's, supposed to be a 1.4" & 1.2" drop on the front and rear, respectively.
As you can see my front is noticeably higher.. my front never settled correctly.
I've seen plenty of local people with the same springs and their fronts are definitely lower then mine.
Rears settled nice though.

 

is there a huge difference in performance when going with 18s over 17s? wrong thread but I've always wanted a 17in wheel but the 18s just look sooo amazing

 

Not really depending on weight, I believe the speedsource rX8 runs 18" Racing Hart wheels.

Guys I NEED this question answered please.
I have 2 set ups in mind but just found out that I can get a great deal on a custom setup.
My question is in a 18x9 wheel, what offset is needed to achieve flushness???? and when I say flush I mean 0(zero camber) and lip of wheel exactly on the edge of the fender.

Please note the setups I'm going for have nothing to do with those sized, but I NEED the offset information.

 

Well look at the pics right about your post.. do you consider that flush? Because if you do.. I'll have you know my wheels are 18x9 +30.

so do the 18x9.5 +15 a few pages back, and notice that your tires are flush with the fender, not your rim, I achieve this same type of "flushness" with 17x9 +35 and 275 tires, 0 camber.

But I believe the ones with the +15offset have some sort of neg. camber.

How "flush" a setup is depends on tire width, wheel width/offset, but what most people forget - ride-height. There are people on this forum that consider the typical 275/35 18x9.5 +45 rpf1 to be flush.

You won't get to where that FC is without any sort of stretch. 275 on a 9" wheel will bulge out forcing you to have the actual wheel itself pushed farther in.

I personally don't really consider 18x9 +30 to flush really. If you drop it down to around 0-1 finger gap, those will be pretty sunk in.

Yes tilt, like I told you before the problem is not really with the outside, is the inside that preoccupies me, that's why I must know WHEEL flushness at 0 camber, so that I can make the calculations.
I know you've tried lots of setups, what offset would make a 9" wide WHEEL flush with the fender at your current ride height???

Personal preference for myself would be around 18x9.5 +22 and that converts to about 18x9 +15... With little camber at a slight tire tuck-no gap I'd guess/estimate 18x9 +15 - +20.

I'd say this picture is a pretty good one to gauge your choice from. Here sits 18x9.5 +15 with a 265/35. You want no camber and my fenders are pulled out - compensating for those two things I'd say sink the wheel in about 10mm, give or take a few.



One problem you're overlooking is that when dropped to that ride height you are forced to run negative camber - even at full positive on the stock bolt you will be in the negatives.

Check out my www.flickr.com/photos/inghostcolours and you can compare the different setups and how far in/out they each sit. Keep in mind my fenders are pulled, tabs trimmed off or relocated, etc. Also, in order to run super aggressive you'll lose usability of the corners. I trimmed mine down to be just the lens and was able to mount them but decided I'd prefer my car without the hideous orange in the first place. You can make it "fit" with a trimmed down corner lens (you'll be hacking off everything but the clear lens itself, keep that in mind) but there will be no bulb (duh).

Good luck! Search and compare off of pictures, wheel fitment is 100% subjective so opinions will vary, thus so will advice.

Tilt, once again, thank you, this is the information I was looking for.

 

Keep in mind the specs I gave you are for the wheel to be flush with perhaps a hair of poke. It's been a while since I've dealt with OEM fenders so its tough to say... If you're expecting to have some tire bulge raise those offsets a bit as well to compensate. When it comes to aggressive, sometimes its safer to go a bit higher - if it's too sunk in for your tastes, you can run some 3mm/5mm/6.5mm/8mm/10mm spacers for fine tuning, if you end up **** about it.

That FD is pretty cool. I'd never rock another car's OEM wheels on my own but the wheel design on the m5 is nice for OEM
