Guys, I'm guilty of being an instigator from time to time but we have to stop smacking every newb that says something that may be considered dumb or stupid. the car scene is filled with varying taste and opinion and we should be a little more forgiving to those seeking information. I will never forget the feeling i had when i went to my first rotary meet it made the car even more special to me because i was accepted right away. lets not kill that emotion for our newbs!

I love the scene and i'm very tolerant. But when people make a car worse and try to argue against the point just irritates me eg Isuzu Swap thread.

i tried looking through this thread for some wheel specs examples to what i've just picked up.

but TL;DR.

how much work will i need to fit 19x9.5 +28 / 19x10 +30 on a slammed R3? anyone have photos of close to this setup stance?

not much. fender roll and some camber will do the trick. i was running about the same widths with my meisters with similar offsets.
also depends on what sized tires you get.

No it wont because a 225/35 has a much smaller sidewall. Have you ever seen a stretched tire with a large sidewall? it looks like garbage.

Also, all the 240 drift guys here run 255/35's and up. I know this because I buy their used drift spares. Running such a small tire (215/40) on a wheel that is barely considered aggressive on out cars will just look dumb. I'm not trying to be a dick but its true. Why would you purposefully choose to do that small of a tires if you could easily run like 40mm larger with ZERO issues.

I have a few options in my stock. but what i want to run is 235/35/19 front and 245/35/19 rear. should that be ok?

also, how low was the vehicle? any pics?

I Agree, but that's not my point. 225's on a 11" rim will look retarded.

granted your not a pro drifter with 600hp, but 215 is just ******* stupid. I know alot of people who drift competitively with around 300whp and they run no less than a 255
the difference is night and day between a stock rx8 and a stock rx8 with a decent diff

How? its just a lot of stretch. I wasn't saying his stretch will look dumb, I'm saying the whole look of the tire will just be bad because of the massive sidewall.
Additionally, he's going to running unnecessary stretch on a non-aggressive fitting cheap set of wheels that have no dish.
The difference between my setup and his, three thousand dollars and careful planning and fitment.

My tire will look identical to this, similar fitment too, I'll probably even tuck a little more sidewall than that.

whoa i clearly remember you running a cheaper set of wheels which were xxr 522 Sizes 18x9.5 +25 and 19x10 +20
Tires are 225/40/18 and 235/35/19. We all start from somewhere. So you use to run the same tire size as me.

225/40 is not the same as 215/40 lol. I also had 10mm spacers on the front to make them sit more aggressively. Running a 215 in the rear is just dumb.

my offsets were better than your xrr's and i move fast i have a pair of 225/40s mounted already. We got hit with 3ft of snow in connecticut so i have to wait to mount them on the rx8. I might run 5mm slip on spacers so my specs will be 18x9.5 +10 offset all around fronts 225/40s and rears im thinkin what size to run.

Yeah I have extended studs in front. They were a bitch to put in. The whole brake assembly has to come apart.

Thanks! Car will be on the ground in a week on my winter setup. In two weeks I'll probably begin the pull.

Ok, I'll Pipe down. It doesn't look as bad as it sounds but... It's still too much for my liking.
