To further expand on this comment, I'm running 18x10.5 +22 265/38/18 all around and will say I enjoy the way my car handles now MUCH more than it did with 9.5 +45 275/35 RPF1's. I've got wheels that weight less than 20 lbs, a stiffer/shorter sidewall to give better responsiveness (those of you with 275's on 9.5 know the gummy feel I'm talking about), the widest footprint possible with my tires, and a width that is not overkill for an NA car. My only fear is tucking when the wide parts come in needing to buy some 18x10.5 +15's!

Lets get some 225/40 front & 275/35 rear and fit them on my

I really don't think the panspeed fronts would fit those either...


Nuke is running 265's on his 10.5 +43's and I am running 265's on my 10.5 +22's - both are within manufacturer specs with regards to tire/wheel width.

my new wheels are nothing aggressive.
gotta put spacer, and trust me, you can fit super low offset with 18", but with 19" you will need to do a lot more to fit the same offset.
when is 7stock? its in LA right?

 

What is the difference with 18's an 19's? The outer diameter ends up about the same, what makes them harder to fit as you say?

Even ride height wouldn't make a difference really. The outer diameter of both setups would be about the same, more or less. The only difference I can imagine would be if you're poking a good amount with a pretty aggressive stretch - the 18's would have more space to camber in than the 19's due to thicker vs thinner tires. Thats really cutting it close though and that would only be the case with a pretty big stretch and a pretty damn'd low offset and wide wheel lol

i would say it is because the different tires size i was using.
i had 255/35/18 before and never rubbed, but when get jump to 19" with 245/35/19. its rubs a lot more.
the old tires are just thinner so it won't rub as easy, but i dont like tires that thin cause since my car is so low, i bottom out all the time when i go over speed bumps!

but really, you guys try some 19" you'll know what im saying!

 

it's because 255/35/18 is a lower profile than 245/35/19. If you ran a 255/30 then it would be the same. 19's should be easier to fit than 18's due to the smaller tire sidewall.

 

18's or 19's, with the same tire width I can't see there being a difference...



That would be more classified as its harder to fit taller tires than shorter, no? Most people would rather a bit shorter than the OEM radius than larger, for gearing purposes. Like comparing 275/35/18 to 275/40/18 in some respects. I know what you mean with wanting thicker tires but I dont know, I don't think it means 19" wheels are harder to fit than 18". I agree taller tires are harder to fit than shorter though, lol.

I originally left the front 1/3 and rear 1/3, the cut down on debree hitting my oil coolers or going into my fender but since then have removed the front part (forgot why TBH lol). I'm only running the rear 1/3 of finder liner.

So can anyone figure out SSR Professor SP1 offsets? They have Super Low, Medium, Normal, and Hyper- getting actual numbers is difficult.

I want 18x10.5 with 265/35-18 tires on them, and I don't want to do some crazy mods to make them fit...so I want a little more conservative offset. Considering the width I was thinking a +35 or so.

Maybe even go staggered, like 18x9.5 up front, 18x11 in the back...thoughts?

 

for the rear i would go with a 225 on a 10 inch wide rim... that would help with the rubbing even if your fenders are rolled
