It's been a while since I posted around here, but it's finally time for new tires for the wife's 2004 RX-8.

No BS here. 63,000 out of the orig set. Maintaining proper pressure and rotating every oil change (5000 miles) might have been the key factor here. Well... then again, even though she is 26, she drives it easy other than the occasional redline.

 

that may be an unofficial record, what brand are you replacing them with?

 

She is thinking of getting rid of it already, so I think we are going to throw the Khumo Ecsta SPT's on it.

Yeah it's an auto. Only had it in for warranty work twice. First time they fixed the motor mounts and the TSB for the heat shield and the second time was for the SSV.

 

it looks like your 8 has seen alot of action, the bumper in the first pic looks like it hit the meat grinder...

 

Ok, how does your wife drive, I wanna learn this

 

She's a teacher and drives 112 miles round trip everyday that school is on. All highway miles. She hasn't even owned the car 2 years yet.

 

If I got 63k miles out of 2 sets of tires, I would be happy.

My stock tires were all four bald at 15k!

 

My first set on my first RX8 lasted me 15k too! WOW 63k + They still look like the can go a few more

 

are those the 16's or 18's? Bridgestones or dunlops?

 

With new tires, your wife is going to think she has a new car and won't want a new one. If they were the Bridgestones, they had to be LOUD and the difference with new tires will be amazing.

They are the 18's with oem Dunlops.

 

If you would have said 'Bridgestones' I would have called you a liar.
