225/45-18 All Season

Just read that the new Altima SE-R will have 225/45-18 tires.

With several vehicles now on the market using this sized tire can I expect someone to make a high performance all season tire in this size soon?

I looked into a different size(which many here have used) on the stock rims, but no one in my area is willing to do it. I don't drive her much in the winter, but living in Minnesota I'd like it to occasionaly at least be an option.

Kuhmo makes the Ecsta ASX in 235/40x18 for $117 each at Tire Rack that would be a good fit and has good reviews. Also, that size wouldn't throw your speedo off too much. You would be going 58.7 mph when your speedo read 60 mph.

I'm surprised no one will install 245/40/18s for you. The difference is minor. As a side note, I put on Continental ContiExtremeContacts today. While they stick well, there is more body roll and the car's steering feels slightly less responsive. I knew an all-season tire wouldn't match the RE40s, but I'm still a bit disappointed... Oh well, maybe they'll improve as they break in.

Did you try COSTCO yet? I'm debating on getting BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2's or Michelin Pilot Sport 2's. Both is 245/40/18 sizes.

There is a forum for the Northwest, check that out. Just look near the bottom of the main page.
