20" wheels good or bad???

there are 2 reasons to change wheels, you want a different look, you want better performance, or they old ones are busted/broken/damaged (ok, 3 reasons)
1 - If you just care about looks/status, get whatever rims you want....but know that the thiner the tire you run...the worse it will ride (bumps and such) and going with a bigger rim might mean you have to run a taller ride hight, or cut some of the body/fender wells.....again chaning the look and ride of the car.
2 - less weight is always a good thing, and less unsprung weight can help you quite a bit...so going with a lighter/smaller wheel can help performance....also you might feel the need to change rims to fit a wider tire or to fit with a lowered ride height.
3 - lets face it, wheels get bent...even with city driving....so sometimes you just have to get a new wheel....and with the cost of some OEM wheels, it can sometimes be cheaper to get 4 aftermarket wheels than even 2 OEM ones......
I personaly care about performance over looks....I think the stock wheels look good, and perform well.....I will be changing my tires and suspension before the wheels....but when I do, I will first shop for wheels in the size i want/need AND as light weight as my buget allows....then from those wheels I will choose what looks best.
To each his own.

You can't just lower the weight of the wheel...because the weight is now pushed farther out to the edge. The effect of the weight is far worse the larger the diameter.
Aka 20 lbs on an 18 inch is better then 18 lbs on a 20 inch.
Google "rotational inertia"
