Question 2 grand to spend on suspension mod's

I am extremely happy with my new rx-8,
the way it handles and its over all design won me over the "z".

Yet just like any new car once it has been broken in a bit it doesnt handle as "crisp" as the day it rolled off the dealer 's lot, soo--

I have 2 grand that I am willing to spend on suspension mods any advice would be appriciated.

I do want to keep the stock wheel 's but I want to lower Selma ,
(my rx-8 named after my future wife Selma Hayak) a bit just enough to close up some of the fender gap.

Im thinking coilover 's

Thank's for any reply's in advance

You should factor in cost of installation and alignment into your budget. My recommendation would be Eibach springs and Koni single adjustable yellow shocks. Maybe sway bar(s) afterwards if necessary and budget allows.

JIC coilovers and Mazdaspeed swaybars and front and rear strut bars and underbody braces...

I think I went over budget :p

The Eibachs have the same drop front and rear. So they wouldn't work with the look you're going for.

Tanabe makes a set that are lower in the front; so does Tien.

Do you plan to race the car? That's some cash for daily use...

Ditto here...but I would wait until KYB produce some adjustable shocks for the 8..i found them to be alot easier to deal with in adjusting than Koni..and their just my preference (and they sponsored my Integra)...IF you're going to race your car...if not I would just go Eibach without the aftermarket shock/struts..you shouldn't run into any premature failure on the stock since you won't really be putting the suspension through the ringer...JMTC

Well my rx-8 will be seeing track time ,
(auto cross) that why my priority is the
suspension mods.
Yet in the back of my mind I want to keep the suspension mods resonable, (not to over the top full on race-setup) in case I deside to sell it .

----Oh and as far as "selling my rx-8" it would be to my girlfriend she try's to drive it more than I do :D .
I made the mistake of showing her marchs issue of Motortrend, where the last sentence of the comparo with the
z--s--rx-8 said "And we have yet to see the hot-rodded maszdaspeed supercharged rx-8".

So my girlfriend tell my to buy that one when it comes out and she'll buy mine
that way she wont have to deal with the dealer.
:p
thanx Xero and everone else for the advice

Saying autocross is a factor instead of just street driving opens a whole new kettle of worms. Which racing organization? What class? Do you want to be competitive or just have fun?

Example: SCCA B-stock means you can replace the shocks and front sway bar only. Stock springs must be used.
