Yet another Low Compression Results Thread...
tested at Mazda.
Rotor 1: 6.5, 6.3, 6.7 @ 291 RPM
Rotor 2: 6.5, 6.2, 6.4 @ 293 RPM
They've listed as a pass??
When I look at the charts, I come to the conclusion it's a terrible fail... Am I doing it wrong?
Looking for some feedback before I bring this chart into them.

They didn't normalize the results as they should. You're completely right and should show them the chart.
I don't know at what altitude you live though, too lazy to search that

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!
Now I have to go through de-carb and then vacuum test and they submit to Mazda to see if it gets replaced...

Mazda wont replace engine unless it tesst 6.0 or lower (or adjusted number from 6.0 kcps at sea level and 250 rpm) . Mazda considers 6.0 and higher as in the acceptable range. (I have this from my Mazda service manager, who is a honest straight shooter).

Mazda says otherwise. 680kpa@250rpm. Read the service manual!

But I quickly pointed out that it's for 250rpm, mine tested @ 290's. Surely once corrected to 250 I would produce well below 6.0. (I don't do math...)

Hmmm two Mazda service managers, one in Canada, one in the U.S. said the same thing, I wonder how that happened bse50 ! Hey if the OP can get them to agree to replace the engine fine, it just wouldn't happen at my Mazda dealership with compression numbers above 6.0 kps at 250rpm and sea level.

I don't know. Words mean nothing when there's something else written on paper. At least here even the latest service manual says 680kpa@250rpms.
If Mazda said otherwise then it's up to the techs\managers to show you where that is written.

What year service manual are you quoting? My service manager says his new service manual says 6.0 at 250rpm. This mazda dealership is one of the biggest on the east coast with multiple dealerships, and they won't do an engine replacement if the compression numbers are 6.0 or higher. hasn't happened, and they won't do it. So if the OP can get it done with his numbers, great Just won't happen at my dealership,end of story

I think it's true, they raised the minimum. Dirty move if you ask me.
Just to update:
Decarb didn't change numbers, failed vacuum test.
Submitted receipts for past 2 years and received approval.
No engines available in north america right now, so we don't know when it will happen.
I have to pay for consumables, which is a drag because I just had an oil change and had all fluids replaced beginning of summer... ugh...
Oh well, good time to check clutch and replace my rattling clutch release bearing!
Any other recommendations while the engine is out?
I already changed all the hoses, water pump and thermostat housing.
