Posting to see if I can get any suggestions. My 04 automatic recently had a new engine put in. After the replacement, the dealership told me about a CEL code I had for a SSV issue (P0661). They said it was separate from the engine replacement and would cost $700 to fix. The car ran fine, so I said 'no thanks' and went my way.

This weekend I finally decided to take a look at the SSV solenoid following the DIY threads here. I took apart the Upper Intake, Throttle Body, checked the solenoid and the valves, everything tested fine.

Not comfortable digging any deeper, decided to put everything back together and just take it to the dealership. I reconnected everything, went to start the car, and nothing. It'll crank, but won't startup. Double-checked everything, tried again, nothing.

Am I missing anything? Would definitely appreciate any suggestions.

Not sure if this could lead to any problems, but I did disconnect the blue and red hoses on the driver side that supply fuel (didn't know at the time they ran gas to the engine).

Anyone know if its possible to get air trapped in the fuel lines? Trying to rule things out here, desperate to get her started... :-(

 

I did double-check all the connections...but I think to be on the safe side, I'm going to disassemble the UIM/TB again, and check the gaskets, screens, and clean the connectors. Thanks, I really hope i get it to work...
