Unhappy wont start.. :(

Okay so my 6spd 2004 rx8 wont start. About a week ago it was starting/running normally then i went to go for a drive and suddenly it wouldn't turn over. I took the battery to get charged (which was needed) and it still will not start! I'm brand new to the rx8 club and, Mazda rx8 in general. I've only had mine for 4 months. So if you have any kind of idea whats wrong, please share.! thanks.

what is it doing when trying to start the car? Clicking? Does it start to turn over? do all the lights dim out when you turn the key?

how old is the battery?
Was it just recharged or was the battery tested?

you may need a new battery!

Make sure the connections are properly connected.

I just had the battery charged, but dont know how old it is. When i try to start it, it just acts like it wants to turn over but doesn't. Before i charged the battery, when i tried to start it, the lights did dim in and out.
* Something to add.. when i try to start it the engine light begins to blink..?

acts like it wants to turn over but doesn't

Can you be a bit more specific?

Does it crank but not fire?
Does it not crank, just clicks?
Does it not click?

What does 'act like' mean?

When do the lights dim? as you turn the key to start, or while it cranks?

How did you recharge the battery?
did you take it out?
boost it?
trickle charge?
what?

It's prolly the battery clamps being loose.
It's always the battery clamps....

You don't have anymore background? Did this occurr suddenly? Was it starting and running normally before you removed the battery?
The rotary is just like any other internal combustion engine. You need metered fuel, compression and spark. Begin by checking these. Personally I'd start with fuel. From all the cranking, you may now have it flooded.

i bought the car from a dealership, so i hardly have any info on it unfortunately.
About a week ago the car was running fine. Started normally and ran normally, then i went to start it (again about a week ago) and got no turn over. So yes it was sudden.

Wrong, you got turn over, but it wouldn't start.

Try and focus, we can't help if you don't describe the problem properly.....

Like signal says, it's flooded, you need to take all four sparkplugs out and follow the de-flood procedure.

Seeing more and more of these types of problems as the colder weather sets in ...

Cold weather exposes weaknesses in electrical items quickly, like:
- Battery and connections
- Generator
- Starter
- COILS
- Leads
- Plugs
