what's wrong with my clutch?? does not engage properly

hello, (2004 75000km)
my clutch does not engage properly.

for example.
i am going on 4th gear and step on my gas, (with my foot totally off my clutch pedal), my RPM gauge goes up and comes down. it seems like my clutch is slipping. i tried to change the pedal play to the factory setting however no improvement.

Also there is this weird sound (sounds sth like mechanic bird charm, high pitch sound). out of my transmission.
however if i step on my clutch just little till my free play, the sound goes away.
Also if set my free play to 0", there is no sound. As i make my free play longer, the sound starts to appear.

the second problem was always been there before my clutch started to slip.

what's wrong with my clutch?/
is it time for me to change?

can i get some suggestion which set i need to buy ?? cuz i have no info at all about clutch sets. i am not a hard driver, i am just a student who drives daily to school and etc. sometime i drive hard when i'm trying to have some fun/

help~~~~~~~~~~~

A likely cause of your "bird chirping" sound is lack of lubrication where the release fork attaches to the pivot ball stud.
The noise you hear is actually a frequency vibration and as soon as you put pressure on the pedal it dampens the frequency, and the noise disappears.
When you set the pedal play to 0 you're also putting slight pressure on it and that is why the noise disappears.

Bad bearings also cause this type of sound, but probably not in your case.
A bad pilot bearing will still make a sound even when the pedal is pressed.
A bad release bearing sound will get worse as the pedal is pressed in.

Now for the clutch slippage... it could very well be time to change it out.
As always, PM Charles R Hill for recommendations on which clutch kit will suite your needs.

Sounds like clutch slipping and time for a new one. The mechanic whirring is normal from our transmissions.

BHR has a replacement. Also i have the ACT heavy duty and that works fine as well. the main cost will be labor to swap it. But it's a pretty standard job any shop you trust should be able to perform.

Its true that our cars have a normal noise from the idler bearing (known as gear rollover), but if he has a high-pitched squeal, I doubt its that.

Since you don't apparently drive your car so hard and you need a smooth ride i would lean towards an exedy stage 1 clutch. BHR should sell them, it's where i bought mine.

Also consider a complete transmission and differential oil change while you're at it, it will help considering your mileage I use redline mt90 for the transmission and shell's transaxle oil in the differential but it is hard to find there. Just slap some redline 75w90 and you should be ready to hit the road again!

^I agree with bse50's clutch and trans fluid recommendation.
I got my Exedy Stage1 from BHR and I'm happy with it and I also use it as a daily driver.

Since you're planning on having someone else do your clutch replacement, I would ask them to lubricate the required grease points.
I'm sure some shops would just skip this step.
Here is the grease point I was referring to earlier that could have been causing your noise:

Might be best to just show them this to make sure they grease everything that is needed.

For the lubrication of the release fork, what type of grease is needed? I have been dealing witht he same bird chirping issue for over a month now and I would like to get it dealt with.

I have a tub of Kendall's Super Blu high temp grease laying around so I've always used that.
But you can use a light film of all-purpose grease on it.
