Every time I drive the 8 hard to revs above 7k rpm or higher there is a weird smell coming probably from the engine bay, I can't really tell. It started happening after about 65k miles and before no smell at all. Is this normal? My 8 does not seem to have any noticeable power loss either and is currently at 68k miles.

 

I'm sure that there are other threads on here about this, but you need more info on your car miles, year ect... so it will be easy to find the solution. I know I get sorta weird smell getting on it for a while, but it is normal depending on what kind of smell it is.
