i have a weird sound when accelerate between 2500-3500 rpm it's sound like use break (whistling noise). it's not there if am in neutral. If i accelerate very slow or very fast it's not there.... need help... (sorry for my english).. it's there at all gear... but easly hear in the second and third...

 

maybe a bearing in the differentiel????? any suggestion???? need help!!!!

 

Could have something to do with the SSV. It activates around 3.5k rpms, but only with a load (won't activate just revving).

Sorry that's the only guess I have.

If it doesn't make it accelerating slow or fast or in neutral, when does it make it?

Maybe just when you are cruising?

o.k... i have a whistling sound (the use brake sound was just a comparaison to help people...)

The sound comming in acceleration or when the motor force... (but it doesn't make it when i accelerate fast...).. so when i'm cruising (exemple: on the higway at 60) no strange noise...

never done any thing to the car (except change oil)
floodded one time ( restarted by remove the gaz fuse... )
to me the sound look coming from the diferrentiel or the transmission
i bring the car to the dealer, the technitien thing it's a vacum sound he don't know from where... and doesn't no if the other rx8 do it or not... But i doesn't have this noise before...

check that the hand brake is not partially engaged and perhaps rubbing a bit. dont just check the handle actually check the position of the brake at the wheels.

does it always do it or just when you first start driving but not again after its warm?
