variation of metra problem

Before I go on, I've tried searching and read through quite a bit of the metra thread...

I bought a new metra kit from crutchfield and installed a jvc avx840. After much pain and trouble, I've managed to install everything and get it up and running.

When I plugged in my climate controls, nothing worked except the fan. The A/C was permanently on (displaed on dash display + light on the button), but everything was unresponsive. I took everything out and tried the 3 solder point fix and BOOM, i had control again!

Except... No LEDs on the climate control. Interestingly enough, the illumination works fine; its just the lights on the buttons. I know they are all working because they all function and the display reflects this as well. It's just I can't tell when I've pressed them because the lights on the buttons aren't working. Any ideas? I've double/triple checked my wiring, and everythings good.

try switching your leads. I had that happen when i plugged the leads in backwards. Make sure the extensions are pluging into the right place. unplug them and switch them around
