Trunk Liner issue

Okay, this is really silly and not that big of a deal, but today when I removed the plastic trunk liner that runs from side to side and over the latch for an install, a small metal clip came flying off from somewhere(between the liner and the frame). I spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out where it came from when done with the install and was putting the liner back in. If you've ever taken that liner off, then you may have seen it. There is only one and I looked all over the inside of that liner for marks of where it may have come from with no luck. I also inspected all the holes or places in the sheet metal for evidence...again, no luck.
It's only about 1/2 long and looks like one of those clips that would fit over metal, and then sort of has a three flange arrangment protruding out that looks like it would then press and snap into a hole to hold whatever(part of the liner?) to the metal frame. Anybody ever seen this little bugger? again, not that big of a deal, but if some knows.............

A pic would help if you really want to know what it is.

Edit: Actually, maybe this will help.

I've seen plenty plastic ones back there that sound what you are describing, never however a metal one.

i think the clip your talking about is 1.one of the clips from the under side of the back plastic panel or 2.just an extra clip from the factory.i work at a dealership in the prep dept. and you would not think the factory loses so much on new cars.this is a small list of things found in new cars released from the factory.extra tag bolts ,seatbeat bolts that hold the seat belt on,trim clips of all sizes and shapes, plastic clips, metal clips, washers, vise grip tools, fender cover's,extra trim for door.cargo areas, extra floor mats, screws, bolts, sockets of top grade air tools, extra cup inserts, extra plugs, phillips screws of all types,*****,ford emblem on right side of car and lincoln or mercury on the other....it go's on and on...everyday something you need to look over the whole car to find if it's missing somewhere or not!!hope this helps!

To everyone...........I appreciate the responses. I considered that it might have just been something that was dropped in there at one time and doesn't actually go anywhere. For what it's worth............G048.....it's not on the diagram you posted, but I thank you. I did look at all the fasteners, but it's none of those.
Hell, I'm not really sure that that diagram shows the actual plastic piece that sits on top of the trunk latch and is also the piece that would be held in by the 4 cargo net tie downs????? That's the plastic piece and the metal clip found was behind it when I removed it. Again, NBD but thanks! Next time I take that piece off for any reason, maybe I'll take a quick digital photo of it................just for the hell of it.
One of life's little mysteries.

In that case, I scanned the associated page which shows a similar clip (#3) just in case it is actually one of those. Although, I'm not sure a clip from the read inside deck trim would have ended up inside the trunk.

Actually now that I had more time to look, I believe it's one of two #3's that fit on the sheet metal and attach to the plastic liner where the jack handle is held. That's in the second scan you did and wonder where the hell the other clips is?Look directly up from where the jack handle is held and you'll see two number 3's.
That's got to be it for sure and had one been left there, I would've seen it for sure, so now I gotta go find it!
Thanks tons.................I know it's a very small issue. but was bugging the crap out of me.

Thanks Again,

Dave

See my PM. If you're missing any of the clips the dealer can order them. I doubt if they will have them in stock.
