Transmission leak!
I think I have may have the same problem, anyone with updates? Would the fluid be from the clutch master cylinder, or is it manual tranny fluid? Assuming we're all talking about the same leak as pictured in this thread, of course!
i think we all have this same problem of our trannies leaking fluid is it a common problem for the safety neutral switch to leak? mines leaking fluid aswell i just noticed it when i changed my tanns fluid
on mine i saw transmission fluid since im using racing blue hydralic fluid for my clutch, and eneos for my transmission and all i see is the eneos fluid dripping
Next question is, if the switch has to be replaced or if it can be loosened and gooped up with RTV or the like?
From searching, it looks like a 27mm crowfoot is the tool needed to get to the switch.

i checked my switch and im guessing the previous owner rtv the **** out of it and this is what it looks like...no leaks coming from my switch but from a different spot still troubleshooting this problem
this is the diagram for the transmission that i know of http://isomerica.net/~fluffy/Ren/RX8...nsmissions.pdf starting on page 23.... i think my oil seal (extension housing) might be the cause for my leakage..hope this help out
the neutral switch is on the RH (exhaust) side of the trans down in the trans fluid zone, making it a potential leak source. The neutral switch is on the LH side of the trans up by the shifter housing up above the trans fluid zone and not likely to leak unless it wasn't tightened properly. This is the switch that usually requires a crows foot to reach it for removal/replacement. The seal at the rear tail housing is a likely leak spot. Also if the front seal leaks it will run out of a drain hole in the bottom center at the rear end of the bell housing.

update...I replaced the reverse switch the one on passenger side closer to CAT and leak was fixed..First I thought it was some seals that break but it wasn't....as I remember I'm using 27mm wrench to removed the switch and a side cutter to cut the switch wire coz i'm having hard time to take out the wire clip on the topside of the tranny...
). From what I remember from over the weekend, mine was pretty damp, so I'm hoping that is the origin. I guess I can try to tighten it, but I can't imagine it loosening over time.I would really like to avoid replacing the oil seal.

Did you try tightening it, or using RTV before replacing it? Any luck? Either way, glad you got your problem resolved.. This is likely the same problem that I'm facing, just trying to avoid replacing the part if I can simply tighten/RTV it (as the part itself functions fine other than the leak)
Thanks for updating!
Ya man, yours looks pretty clean(minus the RTV

I'm just going to go ahead and replace the sensor, since that's what people here and older posts recommend. Anyone know if it comes with a new washer, or does it even need to be replaced with a new one?
Can I expect any trans fluid to leak out during replacement? I'm buying a qt of Redline MT90, as that should be enough to replace any fluid loss from residual leaking and anything that may leak from the sensor during removal.

@mkmike103..I tried to tighten the switch but no luck..the fluid leaked out at the spot on the rubber bushing/fitting of the switch where the wire go through..I think u gonna lose 60% of the fluid...
