temp +36 problems
Hello
When the temperature goes up past 36 degrees celcius,
the car starts to experience extremely low power followed by a metal like rattling sound.
This usually happens under 4- 4.5 k. Sometimes you can play with the throttle and eventually push/power through to make it go away (only until you engage next gear) - other times even when you reach higher revs the rattling sound becomes very loud like your gonna damage something forcing you to back off.
The problem worsens quite considerably when driving in traffic and or when air con is on.
And then in the evenings when the temp comes down, the car is fine like nothing happened
When consulting my local mazda dealer, apparently mine is not the only one. There are another 3 cars experiencing the same exact problems all automatics.
They have checked on all cars and ruled out tranny problems.
They have no idea what is causing the problem nor what is making the noise. They are stumped!
Any help would be appreciated.
Apart from this, the car has always run great with no real problems. Regular service and oil change.
I have an auto late 03 model, jap import.
Thanks in advance for your input.

catalyzer? the rattling usually comes from there.
Other than that hot temps power losses may be due to other factors depending on your cars mileage and the maintenance schedule that you follow!
