Update! The dealer finally got authorization from Mazda to get the engine.
That is at least one relief. I have babied my car, so them telling me they think I abused it and ran it improperly is like cutting my ***** off.

I was so anxious I completly forgot to ask if it was going to be a new or remanufactured unit.

I know that I will need to rebreak the engine in either way, what are the procedures in this case?

I imagine a new engine in an old everything else would be much like a new engine in a new car.

 

Does anyone know what parts of the lubrication system will come with the new engine? Bueller?

 

Well, The old engine is being pulled out today. A remanufactured engine is soon to be going in. I asked about the breaking process, they stated to just check the oil level ever 600 miles initially.

 

Horray My Remanufactured Engine is in! I can pick it up, but now they are telling me my battery is leaking acid. Again, it is an optima red top 34r. I have never had any problems with it so I don't understand why all of a sudden now it is dead. They won't do anything because it is aftermarket. I am waiting for Optima to open up so I can call them. (8am central time, I am eastern). I hope there is a local place that has one of these in stock. The place I originally bought it from is too far away (4 hours)

 

Well, I got the car back. It turns out the battery was just low on charge.

It seems to be running really well. Just like when I bought it. I asked if they flashed it, they said yes, but they gave me a confused look so I am not positive. The receipt doesn't state there was a flash done. Just Engine, Oil and Coolant. The air did feel nice and it didn't bounce around 1k like it used to.

Its so nice to be back in the 8.
