Strange noise when turning off the car!

Hey there!
i just have a quick question, is it normal when i turn off the car and a cracking/clicking noise occur?
i dont have a better word to describe the noise
ne1 have ne clue?

is your car new? sometimes when you buy a new car you can hear some metal expanding and retracting....it makes kind of a creeking sound like a door or hardwood floors....

no its used and has 26k miles on it
the ticking occurs when i turn off the car

no seriously if its coming from under the hood then its normal. i think its just the heat of the car doin a little popping. happens with a lot of cars.

Mines been doing it since I got it new... had it a few years and does it any time I drive the car a moderate distance or being aggressive.

I can't remember where, but I believe it was in the owner's manual, that said it was normal to hear it.
