the ECT was reading 100F in the video, i've seen the sensors have bad spots, but that number makes sense....

Yeah it is likely working properly. I just like to replace old sensors for GP when they have that kind of mileage on them.

There was no coolant on any of the plugs, so I decided to cross my fingers and take the 8 out last night. Basically, it has started running terribly all the time now. The strange thing is, sometimes it corrects itself for 5 minutes or so, and then starts freaking out again. It got so bad last night that I couldn't pull away from a stop sign because it kept dying on me. It started right back up every time, it just would stall every time I eased off the the clutch, unless I revved it to like 6k. I thought to unhook the 02 sensor, which forced it open loop, and it ran almost normally. No more shuttering or stalling, that's for sure. So that concludes that it's a sensor related to closed loop operations.

I plugged the front 02 back up this morning to see how it was running. Now it's staying in open loop regardless of the sensor being plugged in, and it's also throwing an "O2 sensor high voltage" code (I think it was P0152). Does this mean my O2 sensor is bad...? I just replaced it!

Clean the code and see if it comes back. It might be left over from unplugging it and only showed up after X number of drive cycles. Make sure to check pending codes too, as it will show up there first if it needs a few drive cycles to light the CEL.

I cleared the codes when I plugged the sensor back in so that wouldn't be it. Regardless, I cleared the codes again (and even pulled the neg battery cable lol). I've driven ~75 miles and once again I have a confirmed code as well as a pending one. I'm getting P0132--"O2 SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH VOLTAGE". I'm also still stuck in open loop. I've checked the connection and its clean and fine. Would this mean my sensor needs replacing? I just replaced it but I guess it would make sense, considering the crazy fuel trims and performance issues I was having. Maybe the ECU just didn't notice the sensor was wack until I unplugged it and plugged it back in?

A new sensor could be bad, it happens.

I guess I'll be emailing Amazon about a replacement then. These things are too damn expensive to just buy another one

Can you borrow one from someone? I may have an old one I can send you. I replaced mine when I installed the new engine but the old one was working fine AFAIK.

I just sent an email to Amazon about getting a replacement, and am awaiting a reply. I don't know anyone around here with an 8 , so I can't borrow anybody's. If I can't get them to replace mine (they damn well better!), then I may take you up on your old sensor if you still have it. I could paypal you the money for shipping.

Are you purchasing a universal sensor or an OE sensor?

I'm not purchasing one right now, I'm trying to get a replacement for the one I bought back at the end of Janurary. It's an OE NTK sensor, not a universal one.
