strange electrical problem

so i go to start my car the other day and bang all electronics go dead. im thinking either dead battery or blown fuse. so i start pulling fuses, none are blown,i notice i have power again, try to start it again and it starts fine but idles at a higher rpm for a few minutes. battery power seems good. then it happened again the other night, once again goes dead when i try to start it, i pull some fuses and it starts fine. also once i started driving i switched to high beams and my electronics (radio headlights everything) shut down for a half second and then started back up. since this happened there have also been times when it starts perfectly normal. i have no idea whats going on but im about to drive across the country with it in a few days

Check your connections at the battery...if it looses connection it will reset the ECU..and that will cause the funny idle for a while...

Especially if the battery has been upgraded. The new terminals are too small for the clamps.
