Strange bang from the engine

Just a few quick things, I searched and nothing similar came up. Car is an 06 w/ 34,000 miles. Every service has been done since I owned the car. Just got a BHR kit at 30k. Replaced the battery at 30 with an optima, new spark plugs at 30k. Ok now on to what happened

I have a Clifford remote start that has worked great for the past year. I started the car this morning (always let the engine get to norm temps before I drive it) and it was running fine. I got in after it was warmed up (sounded the same as it always did). But I pushed the clutch in to put it into 1st and as I released the clutch to driv it made a decent size bang from under the hood. I looked at the dash and my radiator light flashed for about half a second. My tachometer went weird for a second but then went back to normal. It kind of shook the car and I thought i had stalled the car (never stalled in this car before). Opened the hood and nothing out of the norm. Car drove like normal on the way to work.

Should I be worried? Anything that comes to mind to anyone here?

You haven't given us much to go on. Go to a chain auto parts store. Many of them will read the engine codes for you for free. Note the exact code that is read and come back here. With the rad light and the tach sweep, there's a good chance something has registered.

Even if their is no CEL? I wasn't aware my car would throw a code and not leave a light on. If it will then I'll go to advanced and Definatly go and get the code. Thanks in advance.

I'm 90% sure it was under the hood. You have any ideas what else it might be zoom? And freeze frame data..... You think advanced auto or autozone would have that kind of thing?

it reminded me of something, the bang with the corresponding temp issue and tac sweep, but i cant remember what.

what did the tach do exactly?

i dont know what they might have at those places. it might just be a can capable code reader or it might be something with more depth. if it only reads codes you might be sol.

Jus a quick rev to about 5k and the. Took longer than usual to go back down to 800. The car was at normal operating temp so it wasn't idling at 2k while it warmed.
