SRS light

Is there any procedure that can be done to reset this light yourself? Dealer wants $85 for this

I'm about to pull gauge cluster to remove SRS and TPMS light. lol

There's nothing wrong with my bags or anything. I believe the light was tripped when the car was turned on with the passenger seat out of the car. Now the light stays on after going through it's flashing sequence 4-9.

If there's a way to reset this without the scantool I'd like to be able to do it and save the trouble.

I'm not at all suprised at the $85 quote. Back in 2006, this is the same dealer when I was originally shopping for my RX8, I laid down my terms and they told me "Not gonna happen". Might I add I wasn't looking for new, I was shopping for used in the 20k range give or take. 3 days later I bought my 8 from the dealership about 1/4 mi down the street with less than 15k on the clock.

Not sure if this will work, but you can try disconnecting your negative battery cable for an hour or so.
