JP Squeaking

To get straight to it. When I am driving my AT 2003 RX8 and only when I have my foot on the pedal to accelerate I get a squeaking sound from some where under the hood. I am thinking it is my belt but not sure. When the car is on and running no sound. Can someone lean me some knowledge on this issue

Typically the serpentine belt, that is louder under load. In other cars it's most often the power steering, but we have electrically boosted, so must be something else. Check the belt tension.

After a year of trying to fix this problem I have yet been able to fix. As of now my car vibrates badly while sitting in drive or reverse. It smooth out when I pick up speed but still while accelerating I get the squeaking noise. Also as I step on the brake to slow down I get a harsh vibration coming from the engine it feels like, and also it sounds like my right front fender is vibrating and loose. Now I drive on the right side, being my car is a Japanese 2003 AT. I know it's not my brakes shaking because as I am slowing down and take my foot off the brake I can still fill it and then after a while it stops shaking really hard. I do not get any feedback from the brake nor gas pedal. I took the car into the shop and was told that I had an exhaust leak from my exhaust manifold which was causing the pipes under my car to shake and rube against the heat shield. I changed my exhaust manifold gasket as told and inspected the old one and found out there was never a leak and the shop lied (which I will be going back to cause the $#!% out of them.) They told me they were sure it was that. Anyway it’s changed and the car is doing the same thing. Might it be my engine mounts are bad?.. It didn’t look cracked or bad but we all know looks can be deceiving. Or could it be a bad motor? I have also changed my spark plugs, wires and coils that didn’t help. Belts are not bad. If anyone has had problems like that what did you do and did it work?

Would the American passenger side mount be the same as the Japanese driver side mount?

Put my car in shop yesterday. I called them and they keep trying to tell me that the sound and vibration is normal for rotary engine. Who wants to buy something that sounds like that. It wasn't that way when I bought it so it's not normal. Anyway going to have them change the tranny fluid and order a engine mount. believe it or not the engine mounts are cheaper here than state side. Will post again when I go to pick up car today. Hope it runs better.

Got my car back. Change Dif fluid and ATF fluid. Still shaking. Next is motor mount. If that doesn't fix it than I'm thinking maybe one of the gasket in the engine is bad and the compression is bad. That's going to be the last step is compression test. post result later.

dude .... sorry about your luck

I'm very interested in what the resolution ends up being for your problems.

While squeaking doesn't sound like an engine mount problem the shaking of the car does.

I don't think a bad housing gasket would cause your problems .. or at least I hope not ..
Keep us updated please

Installed motor mounts today. Vibration are gone.... Well the regular engine vibes are still there but not a big problem.. Now something new just started today.. Muffler is shaking little and rubbing on something. I think it's just the rubber elbows(are they called?) need replaced. As for the squeaking..
Haven't been to Mazda shop over here about it yet but I think the squeaking is no other than bad wheel bearings. But that will be my main focus for the Mazda guys to check also water pump bearing. Till then それまで待て!

Thanks for the update.
I've been thinking about doing my motor mounts myself....

Until then...
