Squeak after lowering springs
I got a set of B&G lowering springs for free and last weekend i installed them onto the stock strut (only did the fronts, rears are suppose to be this weekend, had to work)
the problem is there is now a sqeak, sounds like its coming from the top of the strut assembly on both sides... It sounds like a bushing but I highly doubt that every one would go bad at the same exact time.
The squeak is not loud enough to hear while driving only if you compress or raise the car while sitting still, im sure it happens while driving too. have 3 theories to what it could be.
1. the springs are new and the coating on them is noisy?
2. i didnt put the thin plastic piece between the top of the rubber (top hat i think) and where it mounts on the car, causing a rubber on metal where there shouldnt be
3. The strut protective rubber boot is rubbing on the spring itself causing a squeak
My question is, has anyone ran into problems like this or am i just dumb?
I think im going to take it all apart again anyways because i did not trim the bumpstop and the car is running lower than i really expected and dont want to run into problems later down the road.
It looks and feels awesome by the way, there is alot more grip in the front than i actually expected from these
Thanks,
TJ
