Speakers going bad ??

Im not too familiar with wiring etc and sound systems but recently when listening to the radio or Cds. My speakers and sometimes doors vibrate. The sound isnt as crisp as before sometimes. What could cause that ?? Nothings been damaged or anything ??

i think the best way i can describe it is 'static'.

Turn your speakers up n' listen for the sound to start breaking. If you can't distinguish the sounds n' can't dicpher the lyrics of a song then your speakers probably hit their wall.

you can also change the fade n' balance to isolate which speaker is the one with the issue.

imo, spend some time reading the sticky that Firebirdude made regarding all things audio. The dude is a hero (helped me when i redid my h/u)

10 - 12 is pretty loud.

Also in general, you have other vibrations goign on in the car too.. i.e. Exoticspeed Cat back exhaust..

If it's not excessive, I would say it's normal.

Is your bass also at +6?

Just to ask, do you notice any relationship between audio quality and the temperature outside?

Wait, 10-12 is loud? Did they change the radios between series 1 and series 2? I have to be at 20+ on the volume for most stations near me, satellite radio is even worse that sometimes needs to be higher than that. Mind you I do not have the bose system, but the OP also did not state if he had that either.

If I am just idling or sitting in the car when its off the radio is ok at 10-12(still low) but driving there is no way that is going to be enough volume.

i have the bose system :P and whether 10-12 is loud is gonna be different for people. What some people see loud might not be loud for other people. i lowered my bass and it has seemed to help a bit.

This is due to a faulty relay. It's a simple $2 fix if you know how to solder. This DIY explains exactly how to do it. It's easier than it seems... I know because I did it myself with no real soldering experience.

My door speakers work fine now all the time.
