Well my satellite radio antenna on the trunk finally rusted/deteriorated off today and came apart with no effort. Anyone else encounter this issue and have a good way to remove all the crap the antenna leaves behind?
I cut mine off before this happened but you might need to use some stuff that is hard on the paint to clean it up well. Chances are you'll have to wet sand it as it gets well into the paint. You can pull the wire out around the trunk, through the drivers side tail light, then back into the side of the car between the trunk and the rear quarter panel where the receiver is.

How was yours originally attached? It's (was) a magnetic base of some sort and possibly adhesive? I'm thinking of cleaning it up and reattaching somehow to avoid the bodywork involved if I remove it completely.
I thought it was going to be magnetic on mine but it wasn't. It was just an adhesive foam pad. I'm pretty sure that's what you are seeing on yours too. I read a thread on here about people putting it on the shelf above the back seats with good results. Much better looking IMO and you won't end up where you are now. Worth a try if you want to keep it, and if it doesn't work you can always move it back.
Also, there is nothing holding it other than the foam pad so you don't have to do anything but clean the paint.
