Scraping sound while turning

I have an 05 that I have had for 3 years now. It just recently started making a scraping sound when I turn right. Anyone else experience this? Please help

need more info. Scraping from where? Front? Rear? Left side? Right side? What speed turning? Any mods to the car?

Your post is as useful as saying "I have a cough, diagnose my illness"

Get a friend, find a big, empty parking lot and drive slowly while trying to recreate the sound. Try to have your friend pinpoint it from the outside since he'll be able to hear it better.

Once you're making the noise stop the car and take a look to see what's rubbing.

My first guess is brakes... Does the sound change if your braking or coasting through the turn?
Check your pads and rotors. Make sure there's still some left on the pads and there isn't any scrapes in the rotors.
This is easier to check if you know what side the sound is coming from.

If you can't determine a problem with the brakes, spend some time hunting down the source of the sound and I'm sure people on here can offer a bit more support.

Brake pads have wear indicators on them. As the pad itself wears down, the indicator scrapes on the rotor to let you know that you need to replace your pads. When it is right on the edge of scraping, turning the wheel can cause it to hit. So, it is not unusual at all to first notice the scraping noise while turning.

^ This or check the sheet metal cooling duct that is behind the rotor. Some times these get bent slightly and rub on the rotor.

It happens at all speeds. While I'm driving it sounds like it's coming from the back right area but my passenger says it sounds like it's from the back left. It almost sounds like something is rolling in my trunk but it's empty

I'm going to have theM checked tomorrow. I didn't think it was the brakes because in the past they have squealed when they need to be changed but someone else suggested breaks too.

need more info...

It could be anything from a worn out brake pad to a dead hooker in the truck that's making those noises...

I got it fixed. Thanks everyone for your input. I guess when I had some body work done they didn't put a bolt back that held the plastic part behind the rear tire and when I turned at a certain angle the tire would scrape against it. Easily fixed
