Been waiting for the perfect deal to come along and I am basically working on two fronts at about the same price.

Car #1 has excellent exterior condition, zero rust or dings anywhere, 60k kms on 2nd engine. No warranty due to non-Mazda installed engine.

Car #2 has several small dings and rust accumulating under one rear wheel well plus about 1sq cm rust spot in the middle of a rear quarter-panel. The spot has a 3 dimensional feel to it so I fear perforation. Bonus of this car is it as less then 2500km on new engine and balance of engine core warranty. Plus it's my preferred color.

I'm very eager to buy but want to use some prudence.

Can anyone comment on the rust concerns with Car #2? Can this type of rust damage be repaired for under $500? If so I might be able to negotiate that into an offer, if it's over 1G I doubt it but maybe.
