SC Retrieving Diagnostic Codes

I recently bought an '04 RX8 with 45k miles on it. First time with a rotary engine. Already experienced the flooding issue and thanks to the forums got that issue resolved. This morning upon starting the CEL came on and engine ran rough. Temp this morning was about 30 deg f. Came back out a while later to check again. Engine cranked up, idled a little rough but smoothed out. Took it for a ride to get warmed up. Ran fine. Shut off and restarted ok. Still have CEL on. Checked oil level and found foam on dipstick. Headed to the forums and did some reading. I'm not too concerned about the foaming after reading some posts but I'm wondering if there is a way to check the codes without a code reader? I remember some of the older GM's that you could jump a couple of pins and count the series of flashes to determine the code. Is that possible on this model?

Nope, but try Autozone.

Thanks for the response EDZRIDE. Disconnected the battery to clear the CEL, will see if it returns.Drove about 40 miles then left the oil cap off and dipstick out till the engine cooled down to get rid of the foam. Will check again in AM .
