Regional Service Manager refusing Aqua Tail light mod TSB
Ok, so I've been having issues with the water in the tail light thing for a little while now - at least since January, and I finally got a day off where I could get it looked at. So I made an appointment (on last wed or thurs) for this past Friday to take it in. When I got there, I was informed that the TSB was only good for cars under 50k miles, and since my car was over the limit (I had 50,846 at the time of the appointment) I would not be eligible to receive service under the TSB and would have to pay for all parts and labor out of pocket! At my insistance, the people in the service department agreed to contact the regional service manager and see if they would be willing to cover it.
I received a call today informing me that the regional service manager decided that the work would not be done under the TSB. Now, I happen to think that this is completely bogus, as my car isn't that far over the 50k miles, and no where on the bulletin does it mention this 50k limit. Thus, my question is, do I have any recourse aside from eatting the cost of the repairs? I really REALLY don't think it's right for me to have to eat this when there's a KNOWN issue...
Any assistance that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance...

*technically* speaking, he has the right to refuse your warranty coverage because your bumper to bumper warranty is over.
TSB is not a thing for covering warranty or anything, TSB is just nothing but a document that tells Dealership how to fix some *well known/documented* problems.
It is a known issue, but its not deadly, and it does not effect the car's normal operation, you should've fixed it while u're still within the warranty period. and Bumper to Bumper warranty should be 48K miles, not 50K. (at least for the most 04 and ALL 05)
My warranty will soon expire, probably this year end, and Im going to visit dealership BEFORE my warranty expires. not after.

I agree with you that it's not deadly or dangerous, as it's more an annoyance than anything else. However, I bought the extended warranty with the car, which is for 7 years / 72k miles. So my warranty isn't up and I am still well within the warranty period. I probably should have stated that in my original post, but that fact only further adds to my frustration...
So you got extended warranty Right? is it extended Bumper to Bumper warranty ? or what ? What kind of extended warranty do you have ?
If its extended Bumper to Bumper warranty from MAZDA, Not 3rd party warranty company, then they HAVE TO fix this, there is no 50K miles bullshit. The service manager probably dont know you have extended warranty with Mazda.
but u should read what the Extended warranty says, scan the Terms and condition part of the paper that u signed and let us read it.

DIY man stop relying on the dealership to do something as easy as taking 1 10MM bolt off and drying the tail light and putting a new gasket on from www.finishlineperformance.com http://www.finishlineperformance.com...cat=302&page=1 WALLAH like brand new. If you see white residue run some White Vinegar through it and it will look like brand new.
