Raspy Squeal at 2500 rpm

hey guys,

Just in the quest for information a google search didn't really turn up anything like what I'm experiencing.

The engine seems to develop a raspy squeal/squeak to it but only between 2300 and 2750 rpms...once above or below those two points it stops, it does not matter which gear it is in or speed.

Sometimes if I hold the RPM it persist and other times it cuts in and out. No CEL has been thrown, engine oil level is good.

how serious is this and where should I look to first?

*also: 06 AT GT with 28K (and yes BHR Coils are coming apparently I'm getting them as a birthday present from my gf. )

Thanks,

is this when you're under load? Is there any way you can tell where the noise is coming from (engine, tranny, etc)?

Check your alternator and A/C belts

Then your idler pulley

Then your A/C compressor

Then the alternator

This happens when I pass those two points under load or under braking. doesn't seem to favor any gear I'm in when it happens. noise if I had to pin point the sound would be in the left side of the engine bay

I will definately check the belts and pulleys though.

Thanks
