Question about aftermarket CAT
Cars been misfiring and noticed lack of power around 3-4k rpms in 3/4th gear. Its an 04 rx8 automatic. Changing the plugs and wires this week but the lack of power that sometimes occurs has me thinking the CAT is clogging. I was looking at the RP Supercat Midpipe from rx7.com.
My question is, do i need to replace the bolt and gasket set when replacing the CAT (im figuring a big DUH!)? And does this take the place of the OEM CAT without the need for anything else?
Thanks

Got the car in march, have only put like 5k on it. Never replaced anything yet. Coils are gonna be done a few weeks down the road as money is tight. I just cleaned the MAD sensor, did the "20 brake stomp" to reset the ESS, cleaned the connectors that connect to the coils and the wires (cleaned and greased connectors/wires). My car has a code for multiple misfires and CAT malfunction. The weird thing is, that my car starts flawlessly (goes to 2100rpms and then settles to 800 and doesnt jump around or idle roughly). The major thing ive noticed is a bog when accelerating from a completw stop, and on low rpms in 2nd there is power loss, and theres terrible acceleration SOMETIMES in 3rd around 3000 rpms and 4th is basically like driving a prius.

you should plan on either buying new bolts/hardware, or having a way to go get new hardware.
i've actually had good luck being able to reuse the OE fasteners, but it helps if they've never been off before, or the guy before you was gentle
