i just had this repair last week, called mazda tech line..they sent me a repair kit that consisted of a black pin connector with aboout 6-8 inches of wires. you cut the n-04 connector off of the car and solder this connector in place. heat shrink the connectors and wrap it with electrical tape. the car i had was out of warranty and tech line sent the kit at no charge, but the customer had to pay the labor. hope this helps

Heh I was replacing my battery this weekend and ended up in need of a shim. Tickled my memory. Copper it is! Here's to not throwing out plumbing scraps

NZ power steering malfunction indicator light mazda 3

Our 3 series Mazda has the Power Steering malfunction light on when the key is on but the light goes out once the motor starts. This has just started happening over the last couple of weeks. The oil level is fine and no signs of damage or leaking in the general area. Can anyone please advise on the most likely problem.

Hmm... well it's normal for our PS light to be on before you start the car. I don't know if its normal or abnormal on a 3 series.
