So i realize there are tons of issues with the power steering. Im going to list the codes that i got and what i did to fix issue. I had never had any trouble with my 8 (52,000 miles) until one day under normal driving the car dies out. I pull off side of road, lift up the hood and realize my positive battery cable had come of the terminal. I hook it back up, retighten with some tools i have and restart the car. Started right up but power steering light was on and very hard steer. Next day i brought it into my shop and scanned for codes.
B1342 ecu internal fault
B1342 ps. Rcm.
U1900 can bus fault
U1900 ps. Ic. Rke
U0073 can bus fault
U0073 ps. Ecm
So im going to be honest here i had our shops electrical lead tech look into diag. He suggested the power steering control module went bad. I took a chance and ordered one off ebay for 180 bucks. I put the new one, cleared codes and fixed. I apoligze i dont have major details on the actual diag process but i just wanted to post what happened and what i did to fix it.
