My wife told me that her car (RX-8) had shut off on her today while traveling down the road. Quite honestly she thought it cut off, but said the starter ground when she tried to restart it. I'm thinking the engine was on, but lost power.

So it came back to life and she came on home which was only a few more miles. She isn't very good at describing what happens with stuff like this. When I got home I noted the fan was still running and the temp gauge was quite hot. It had also thrown a CEL. I got the water hose and aided the radiator to help cool it down. Today wasn't the hottest day we've had around here either, 90's w/ some humidity.

I just went out and checked it and all the fluids seem to be fine. The CEL has also gone away. Anyone have any insight into this one?

As a side note... this car has been nothing but trouble. I poked around for a few minutes and there seems to be more problems than are acceptable.
