Front area ... maybe the OMP
Back .... Oil pan

Just guessing ... it's impossible to tell without actually seeing the leak

ACK!!!!
Yes that's rather an important piece of information ....

So did they drain some oil back out or are you running or did you run the car with a full quart over the fill line?

do a google search like this without the quotes
"site rx8club.com overfilled oil"

I looked at a couple of threads quickly ..... looks like the biggest problem would be oil getting thrown up back in to the intake .... especially since you have a 2005 that does not come with a Oil Catch can...

I'm not sure about the particulars on over filling the oil .............
I doubt it would cause the oil pan to leak .....
Maybe they didn't tighten the Oil Drain plug enough ..... that may be leaking ...

MMmmmmm I dunno ...... you might have to get your hands dirty and find out where it's leaking ... or take it to a mechanic.

Maybe they overfilled and spilled oil ..... perhaps its just spilled oil dripping off the motor?

Um yea ran car overfilled. Only discovered when I noticed leak and checked dipstick. Leak has fixed overfill rather quickly that's why I'm wondering if this is just on overfill leak not an actual gasket or something. No oil spillage. definate dipstick reading lower. I hope overfill didn't do damage. engine light on too but some gas vapor code comes up which I thought was related to fuel cap. Oh well got a spare quart in trunk.

I'm upset: less than 2 yrs ago and probly only 5,000 miles ago the dealer replaced the o-ring where pump meets the engine...How long should this last? I didn't suspect this again cause it was just done!

I had mine checked out and the mechanic said either my oil pan is leaking or the main engine seal. But I have not had any changes in the engine's performance since that is where the transmission meats up and I have not been loosing pressure. I tested cars and drove them when they had transmission leaks. But what does it take to pull the oil pan. Do you have to pull the sub frame like on a rx7? And is it alot of effort to move it? I hope to do this myself if I can.

You should really find out where the oil leak is coming from before you start pulling stuff a part.

That being said ...... the oil pan is easy enough to do in the garage.
You do not need to pull the sub frame.
I'm done my twice.
Once for the oil pressure mod than again to install the Greddy oil pan for my turbo.

Use RTV Grey for the gasket seal.
There is a DIY somewhere ... do a search.
