Oil gone mad?

Okay heres the deal. I have an 04 with 88,000 on her. No performance upgrades just bone stock. Spark plugs n wires changed bout 5k ago, coil changed bout 15k. Okay well one day coming home from work I took a turn at bout 30 mph and my oil light started flashing. I get about 5 miles up the road it starts smoking badddd. I get home there is oil all around the oil filter area as well as all on the bottom of the car and on tge back bumper. Let it sit for bout a week drove it to advanced to hook it up. They hooked it up and said my rear 02 sensor is bad. I was like well what bout the oil? He said did you check your oil plug on the pan? I said no but how would that have something to do with it only spewwing oil in higher rpms all over the top n side of the motor?? He just walked away. HI'm a newb but trust me ive jkdone plenty of research and im thinking maybe its the oil pressure switch which is what im hoping for at least. Oh and when I got on it on the way backfrom advanced after I hit like 7 grand in 3rd it smoked hella bad and I lost like half the oil that was in her. Next day put her on sone ramps got it up to 9 grand and nithing came out. Sorry for the grammatical errors for im on a dumb phone. Yes I am young but I knew what I was getting myself into when I bought the car. Im not gonna take it to a dealership cause I believe if you cant fix it yourself then whats the point in having it. So if I could get some good feed back and possibly a helping hand or two tgat wouls be awesome. thanks guys have a good day! And my bad for starting a new thread put as I said this phone is cray cray.

1) Your post is really hard to read

2) The oil light doesn't flash. It's a single trigger based on oil level. If there was a light flashing it was your TCS light or your CEL.

3) Did letting the car sit for a week magically refill the oil?

4) Did you keep driving with no oil in the engine?

5) Did you clean up the oil? or did you let it just sit there dripping?

6) Yes, you are a noob, but no, you haven't done research. Please don't insult our intelligence. Edit: 'Sufficient research' is more accurate

7) Your research leads you to believe that a oil pressure switch failure will cause oil to spray from the oil filter?

8) When you hit "7 grand in 3rd it smoked hella bad and I lost like half the oil that was in her", what method of measuring did you use to calculate a 3 quart oil loss? The dipstick is dry by about 1.5 quarts low.

9) Did you keep driving with no oil in the engine?

10) if you don't care enough to post clearly from a real keyboard, I'm not certain how much you care to learn the answer.

1. My apologies.

2. My oil light did flash for a mile up the road. Cel light was on. Dynamic stability control was on.

3. Na I dont have the little troll running around magically filling my oil up. When I was at advanced I bought 3 quarts of oil.

4. I may not be as " edumacated" as some but im not gonna drive my car into the abyss.

5. I had some brake cleaner and sprayed it on all the metal items and wiped it down with some dry rags.

6. Ive done my sufficient research, sir.

7. My research has led me to believe that it is that. Cause most of the accumulation was around the oil filter area. Isnt the oil pressure switch in said area?

8. I did not know that. Thank you for the knowledge. When I left advanced it was at the full line. After I got on it and pulled over it was close to the low line.

9. No sir I did not drive with no oil in it. I waited and topped it back off and putted home.

10. My bad for not being as fortunate as some and having a computer. At the moment I do not have access to one. Newbie or not I'm a proud owner and I care tremendously about my car. If you wanna actually try to help me awesome thanks for the kindness, sir. If not well then I guess i'm sol? Either way I've read some of your stuff on here and frankly it'd be very genuinely of you to help a less fortunate owner.

Thank you for the significantly clearer response, though please drop the 'sir'

It does sound like you have several different problems at once.

Your steps in the order of priority:
1) Validate that you have the right symbols. The oil light flashing could only happen if the oil is sloshing around tripping the sensor back and forth. An oil light flashing is something I have never heard of in the past 6 years out of our car.

2) Find where the oil is coming from. Not generally. Specifically. It could be anything from a busted oil cooler line, loose filter, exploded filter, rear main seal, cracked engine block, spilled on top off, etc... If you have an actual leak, your are running a pretty severe risk by driving it.

3) Get that actual code number, since we have two different O2 sensors and you need to know which one to replace. If it's the front O2, replace that asap.

Ah momma dawg raised me better then that. I know when I told my brother about the flashing oil light he talked to his mechanic at his work, who has done some work on rotary's and pretty much said the same thing you did. Lol see I tried but it only happens when its in gear. Like I said I had it on the ramps and had my friend rev it up to 9 and no oil was coming out anywhere:/ im a lil scared to drive it. I guess ill start with the easier stuff and recheck the lines as well as take my filter off. Type "f" tool correct?? And seeing as I dont wanna drive it ill have to buy a scanner. Do you know of a very reliable one sir? Oh and I had the front 02 replaced about 10,000 miles ago

The cheapest OBD2 option is to get a cheap bluetooth OBD2 adapter, like from ebay or amazon, pair it to your smartphone or tablet and use an appropriate free OBD2 app.

Otherwise you can get just a code reader for $30-$50, add more features the more you pay.

I'd recommend using your hands when you install/reinstall the filter, not a tool. Too much torque and the tools can weaken or destroy the filter housing, not to mention making it much harder to get off later. I have always used just my hands, both on and off.

If the only evidence of an "oil leak" is from up near the filter and smoke when you were accelerating, then it is likely spillage from a prior oil change. The smoke would probably be from running far too rich from a faulty O2 sensor.

Just guesses with what you have provided. Still plenty of other possibilities.

okay took off the oil filter. Checked it and the filter neck they were fine. All my oil cooler lines looked good. I'm gonna take it to a friends to put it on a lift and hopefully find the culprit!
